Upcoming Meta Quest and Quest 2 games: VR experiences to watch out for

Looking for an excuse to buy a Meta Quest 2? Or just wondering what games will be available to play? Then you've come to the right place.

There are numerous VR experiences coming in the next few months. Fantastic games to add to the collection of already awesome games available on the platform. So ready your wishlist, because we're about to take you on an exciting journey of future content.

Green Hell

Green Hell VR is an Open World Survival Experience. This is a VR version of the popular PC survival game that plonks you into the Amazonian rain forest with no food or equipment on hand and the challenge to survive, hunt and defend yourself from danger.  The Quest edition of the game promises to be truly immersive and just as demanding as you'd expect.

The developers say this game was built from the ground up for Meta Quest 2, so it's a perfect choice for those owners who enjoy survival games.

Cities: VR

Cities: VR is a virtual reality adaptation of the leading city-building sim, Cities: Skylines that'll soon be available on Meta Quest 2. This game promises to be "the ultimate VR city-building and management simulator" giving you control over every aspect of city planning and construction. City builders and sim lovers can expect the most immersive experience ever with this style of game.

Area Man Lives

Area Man Lives is a VR game with a very hands-on vibe. You'll be poking and prodding the world in all manner of ways and interacting with it using your voice too.

"AREA MAN LIVES is a quirky VR game that mixes a comic book world with an over-the-top radio drama. Using your own voice to talk to characters and your high-tech monkey gloves interact with the world, you begin to piece together what’s happening in this decidedly odd town on the Oregon coast. As you live inside a classic radio drama, talk to its invisible characters and interact with the environments the story paints in your mind, you’ll start to notice how your actions inside the station impact your listening audience."

Peaky Blinders: The King's Ransom VR

  • Game type: Action-adventure
  • Publisher: Maze Theory/Caryn Mandabach Productions
  • See the official site
  • 2022

This one will throw you into the gritty streets of 1920s Birmingham and beyond. Where you'll be experiencing life in the Peaky Blinders' world. While coming face to face with your favourite characters from the show, all voiced by the real actors.  Sounds like a perfect romp.

The Last Clockwinder

The Last Clockwinder is an unusual one, a VR game that's all about building functional contraptions out of your own clones. Imagine moving around in the world, but creating virtual clones of yourself as you go, passing objects to yourself in the future or the past and solving puzzles along the way.

GTA San Andreas

At Facebook Connect, Oculus revealed that the Rockstar Games classic Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is in development for Quest 2. Apparently, this VR imagining of the San Andreas has been in development for quite some time and should certainly be an interesting revisit to this episode in the series in a new way.

Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell

Ubisoft has already dabbled in a few VR games in recent times, with Star Trek Bridge Crew being another solid favourite of ours. Now the company is planning on bringing two of its biggest franchises to VR as well. Both Assassin's Creed and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell are getting the VR treatment at some point soon.
