Catching Up with Org Junkie #3 ~ June 2020 Favorites and Silliness!

Hey there y’all! Well here we are at the end of another month, can you believe it? I’m happy to be back today with my June 2020 favorites but I’m also sad to be saying goodbye to my birthday month that is for sure. And in case you still had some doubts about how much I love birthdays this picture might convince you otherwise. Yep total birthday dork right here! And yes you bet I totally drove around town like this.

birthday silliness

We did a socially distance birthday party (that’s my son beside me) in a park and sat around enjoying the sunshine and chatting with friends for four hours! It was delightful 🙂

I’m so excited to bring you another Catching Up with Org Junkie post where I round up my monthly favorites. I am a total product junkie and I love sharing these things with anyone who will listen. Just ask my local friends, ha! I never recommend anything I don’t absolutely love so you can rest assured about that. Now let’s get into it, there is some great stuff this month!

Currently Drinking:

I’m drinking more water and that’s because of my new water bottle. You’ll remember that I previously had a favorite water bottle and after a couple of years it got some mold in it that I couldn’t get out. So I had to toss it but was excited to try out a water bottle that gives me a visual on my intake. I go through periods where I do really well drinking my water and then periods where I don’t. So I thought this might help and so far it is working! I try to drink two of these a day. It looks like it’s only available on the Canadian Amazon site but here’s a similar one on the US site if you happen to be looking for a new water bottle.

Currently Eating:

My first strawberry! Remember I told you I purchased a mint/strawberry hanging basket? Well I finally got a strawberry off it, yay! Just enough for a teeny tiny margarita! Just kidding, I gobbled that sucker right up. Didn’t share with anyone either.

Next up I have to tell you about my new favorite appliance, the T-Fal Optigrill+. This indoor grill is AMAZING! For someone that hates to cook, this appliance is a lifesaver. You put your meat on, select the applicable meat button and walk away. There is an automatic sensor that cooks your food to perfection. You can even put on frozen meats. It’s so smart making my life so much easier! I especially love the removable plates for easy cleaning.

So easy for kids to use too. My youngest uses it everyday for lunch to make a Panini as you see from the picture below. It is pricey but I purchased mine from Canadian Tire for 40% off. Worth every penny to me.

Finally a huge shout out to a Canadian company called Stellar Eats. They sell gluten-free, grain-free, dairy-free, plant based, paleo friendly food mixes. Thanks to them I had delicious birthday cupcakes that my son was able to easily make for me. So thankful!

Currently Doing:

You all are going to think this one a little strange because it totally is! We spent the week my middle son was home (he came for my birthday!) working on a 1000 piece Christmas puzzle. Yep a Christmas puzzle. We didn’t get a chance to do it at Christmas so summer it is! My snowman friend is cute though right? I originally purchased it on Amazon but I don’t see it there now.

Currently Loving:

I purchased myself a Jilly Box for my birthday and was thrilled when it arrived just two days before my actual birthday. The Jilly Box is a fun quarterly box put out by Jillian Harris filled with some of her favorite things. My favorite item though was the beach print. I love the beach and this print goes perfectly in my beach themed bedroom. So pretty!

And while there is currently a waiting list for the box, you can purchase the print right HERE. I also use Jillian’s presets and love them! Use code XOJUNE25 at checkout for 25% off your entire order.

Something else I’m enjoying is running my portable diffuser (with Citronella oil in it) outside on my deck to keep mosquitos away. It works well. I purchased this one from Costco last year but THIS ONE is the one I really want because it has a carrying handle and can also be a lantern. Much more portable to bring with me to parks, picnics and my son’s soccer games (whenever we are allowed to have those again). In fact as I was writing this post I decided to just go ahead and order it so I’ll let you know what I think of it when I get it. I ordered from the Amazon US site (linked above) as it is way more expensive on the Amazon Cdn site.

Currently Watching:

I really liked watching Virgin River on Netflix. It’s about a nurse that moves to start her live over in a small town called Virgin River. As you know I love family drama types of shows, can’t get enough! Currently there is only one season but it has been confirmed that a second season is coming soon. Sounds like it was filmed before the pandemic hit so that’s good! Anyone else watched it yet?

Currently Reading:

Right now I’m trying to decide which book I read first from the stack of books my sister got for me for my birthday. I will always be a book holding reader because I love the experience of holding an actual book and the smell of them as well. Please tell me I’m not alone in my book smelling ways, ha! These books ought to last me the summer months!

Currently Playing:

We played a lot of board games when my son was home visiting. One of my favorites is Sequence. It’s a fun game that doesn’t last too long. I have my limits y’all! Super simple to learn too which is my kind of game. Play a card from your hand, and place a chip on a corresponding space on the game board – when you have five in a row, it’s a Sequence. Super easy!

I love playing outside on my deck on the coffee table.

Currently Purging:

Well I did get to some purging this past month. Mainly kitchen items that I cleaned out and a few things from the garage. We have a huge garage organization project that will hopefully get done in July. I’m hoping my husband will let me share it with you here but it’s not my territory so I tread lightly and try not to overstep my bounds.
